Jay Pink is an attorney who works with businesses and families on estate planning and business law matters. Having his CPA license, and working in multiple family businesses over his career has positioned him to provide valuable insight on successful business operations. He has formed many entities – LLC’s, Corps Partnerships, and non-profit organizations.

I grew up in Massachusetts with entrepreneurial parents who ran a plastics manufacturing company (they have since sold, and it is now under new ownership). That exposure to entrepreneurial parents and a family business formed many of my passions and guides my efforts as an attorney.

I attended Boston College for undergraduate study and majored in accounting. Spending a year-abroad living and studying business in Italy gave me an invaluable exposure to international business issues and methodologies.

After graduation I moved to San Diego, California where I passed the California CPA exam (all 4-parts on first attempt) and began working in a CPA firm in beautiful downtown San Diego. There I was privileged to assist many clients running businesses of varying sizes and helped them with financial and tax related issues.

While in San Diego I met my wife, Dana Pink (née Gianelli), and together we ended up working in Malawi, Africa. We spent 4-years with the African Bible Colleges where I taught bookkeeping and Dana taught 3rd grade. Our oldest child was born in Malawi and we still have many good friends there.

After leaving Africa, we moved to Massachusetts where I worked as an executive for my parents’ business and started law school through Concord Law School. I passed the California Bar Exam (on my first attempt) and our family is happily settled in sunny California.

Our experience in Africa taught us many things about the importance of community and helping those around us. I have been highly involved in the community throughout my law career. I was the class member of the year in the Leadership Modesto (LEMO) class of 2015-6, and was a recipient of the 2017 Modesto Bee 20 Under 40 award, a founding member of the Glorious Modesto movement, and a member of the New Leadership Network of Stanislaus County.

In 2018 our family moved to Sonora, CA. In 2019, I launched my own law firm with offices in Modesto and Sonora. I was a member of the Leadership Tuolumne class of 2019-2020, the Tuolumne Business Council and other community efforts, while continuing to build roots and connections in Stanislaus, Tuolumne and Calaveras counties.

Brandon served as General Counsel for the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians for the last 11 years. Brandon is a graduate of San Diego State University and was a Co-Valedictorian at the Laurence Drivon School of Law. Brandon practices estate planning and business law transactional work and has experience helping with labor law and human resource legal issues.

I was born in Modesto, California but my family quickly moved to San Diego where my dad was stationed in the U.S. Navy. As a military family, we lived in southern California, Japan, and Virginia, before settling back in the foothills of Tuolumne County in the mid-90s.

I completed undergraduate studies at San Diego State University while I worked in nonprofit organizations that helped foster youth gain valuable life skills while they were leaving the foster care system.

After marrying my high school sweetheart in 2005, we headed back to northern California where Jolene began a teaching career and I continued to work in social services. Though Jolene is a realtor now, we both have a strong calling to “people helping” professions.

I decided to enter law school after experiencing the impact our legal system had on kids and families. I realized that lawyers were often in a position to help people who were facing unique challenges or opportunities.

After graduating from Laurence Drivon School of Law, and passing the California Bar exam, I was able to work in several rewarding areas of law. I served as general counsel for the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians and their economic enterprises (including Black Oak Casino) for 11 years. I enjoyed advising on complex areas of federal, state, and tribal law while also being involved in complicated and dynamic business and government issues. While serving as General Counsel, I also gained valuable experience working at a boutique business, estate planning, and bankruptcy law firm from 2011-2014 where I advised clients and companies on their various issues. I have also volunteered for both the Tuolumne County District Attorney’s office and the Stanislaus County Public Defender’s office where I gained valuable experience in both the prosecution and defense of criminal matters.

While I have enjoyed all aspects of the prior work I have done, my favorite is to help business owners and individuals plan for their futures. Providing peace of mind is incredibly rewarding. I feel my prior experience has provided me a unique perspective and skill set that serves my clients.

We have to two active kids who enjoy sports, the outdoors, and school. Having a love of serving and lifelong passion for sports, I served several years on a local school board and currently serve as a Director for the Youth Sports Foundation of Tuolumne County.

We feel fortunate to be in Tuolumne County where we get to experience a sense of community and do all the things we love.
